Violence Explodes in Hong Kong

Bill Gates Gave Away $35 Billion This Year, But He Is Doing Well

While many citizen in Hong Kong prepare for elections, the more aggressive stance that clearly shows protesters are ready to up the risk of loss of life, is now a global concern. The protesters, for some unknown reason, seem to have no fear and are driving the narrative to a dark and possibly more violent ending. The police are now saying that they will clear students out of a local university, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and use live ammunition if necessary. Tensions remain high and the university has announced that it will continue to close its doors at least until Monday when police are expected to drive students who remain barricaded behind newly erected walls. The local citizens are now less supportive of the protesters – some of these citizens have been challenged and threatened. The image of Hong Kong has been damaged and the the economy is now suffering because of their violent protests. Some analysts are suggesting that the Hong Kong financial industry could suffer long-lasting damage as firms move to other centers in Asia.
