The US and China have carried on the trade war for about a year and now the most recent point of contention is that the US, normally being allowed its ships to Hong Kong, were refused to enter the harbor. The USS Green Bay and the USS Lake Erie, were due to call on Hong Kong port in the coming weeks, but China has denied the stop. China has accused the US of instigating protesters to violence, citing communications between American officials and activists – this claim Washington denies.
According to Bloomberg news, a piece attributed to Ian Marlow, President Trump said in a tweet Tuesday, that US intelligence agencies show evidence that China is moving troops to the border. It has become clear that the US and China are now escalating this trade war and the consequences are unknown.
A US ship was denied access to Hong Kong in September 2018 and the upcoming visits being denied will mean that a US ship will not call on Hong Kong for a full year. As the demonstrations increase the Hong Kong, US President Donald Trump has urged China to be calm in handling the youth. Some of these young Chinese have been waving the US flag and asking for the 2nd Amendment to be implemented in Hong Kong.
