US President Trump said on Tuesday that he could direct top administration officials to testify at the Senate trial for impeachment. The White House blocked officials from participating but now there is clearly a change of heart, now these senior officials can and just might get involved in the Senate hearings. Of course in the past, the President said that the House was being “unfair” in its treatment. As the President calls the impeachment decision by the House “unfair”, he is now spending time in London at NATO meetings, and verbally battling with French President Emmanuel Macron. He did mention that the House of Representatives is in “A fix” which in his mind would imply that an unethical attack. And Mr Trump went on to say, “future presidents should in no way be compromised,” with regards to being compliant with the House questions and interviews. Trump has turned up the dial on his views of Chair of the House Intelligence Committee, Rep Adam Schiff by calling Schiff a “maniac” and “deranged” – a bit aggressive even for the mild-mannered Trump. Mr Trump seems to feel that these attacks are just political and in the long run, will help him in the polls, which he says (not true) have never been better.
