President Trump has now been accused of suggesting that the US drop nuclear weapons into hurricanes to change their course and not impact the United States. During the hurricane briefing, Trump asked if it were possible to disrupt hurricanes forming off the coast of Africa by dropping a nuclear bomb in the eye of the storm. It is reported that this is not the first time the US President offered this idea, as back in 2017, it was reported that Trump asked other members of the administration if it were possible to bomb hurricanes to change their course and prevent them from making landfall. These notes were reported by Axios. With a small amount of research one can easily see that the power generated by a hurricane is, in fact, many thousands of times greater than a nuclear weapon. Of course, there would be no impact on a hurricane if a nuclear weapon are dropped and more importantly, the nuclear waste would be spread over hundreds of square kilometres.
