North Carolina saw over 20 tornados lead this hurricane up the East Coast of the US, and it is now official, this destructive storm has hit countries and states and it is not finished. After causing damage that will be remembered for decades in the Bahamas, Dorian went up the East Coast and is now moving toward Canada.
The US towns and cities along the coast north of Florida saw three feet (or about a meter ) of floodwaters and over 110 MPH (about 170 kph) but note that the US got off easy. As I type, rescue workers are fighting the smell of decomposing bodies while looking for survivors. Dorian will go down as one of the top 10 hurricanes in recent history. The death toll keeps rising in the Bahamas.
The storm surge put parts of South Carolina under water up to three feet or one meter. Official death count for Bahamas is only 30 but there are thousands of people missing and emergency services say that the death toll will rocket higher.
