The new story coming out the the auto tycoon Charlos Ghosn is that he believes his arrest was part of a plot that involves treason at his former employer – according to jiji press in an article on the Japan Times. He claims that there were Nissan Motor Co executives who were against the greater integration of the firm with French alliance partner Renault SA. In the shocking arrest on November 19, Mr Ghosn, once a TV personality and rock star of Japanese business, the entire narrative changed and as it seems, there was a lot going on behind the scenes.
We at Classiarius believe that the story is just coming to the surface and that the 64-year old Ghosn, who has been denied bail several times, just might be the man who knows too much. He now says that “all the evidence is with Nissan and Nissan forbids all employs to talk to me.”
Lawyers are now saying, even his own lawyer, that he will not be released before the trial and it might take up to 6 months to organize this event. So he might be arrested and re-arrested again and again until that date. Ghosn faces three separate charges and one is the underreporting ¥5 billion between 2010 and 2015. There are other allegations as well, some with even bigger numbers attached. This story could continue for years and in the end, Carlos Ghosn may be in a very different situation. This piece originated in the Nikkei Asian Review.
