House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said that President Trump had to challenge China`s trade practices but she is not sold that he took the right steps to hold Beijing accountable, according to an article on CNBC. She voiced concern about US consumers and farmers. Despite comments from Trump that point to the US trade war with China not having negative impact on the US economy there is growing evidence that some industries, especially farming, are being hit hard.
Pelosi is stating the obvious and calling Trump out on issues that should be discussed. President Trump recently stated that he thinks there will be a trade deal with China before the November 2020 election – but note that many political analysts feel that China will hold out for a more favorable package or hold out to damage Trump in his re-election campaign. This trade war will not end soon and in our view, it could last for years, well into the next generation.
