Hurricane Dorian Now Category 5 Or A Killer Hurricane

The current status on Hurricane Dorian is that it has been upgraded to a Category 5, with sustained winds of 185 mph or 298 kilometers per hour, a destructive force that can destroy small buildings and tigger storm surges in rivers and lakes – note that flooding kills more than wind in most hurricanes. This is the level of matches the 1935 destructive storm that hit on that Labor Day making it the strongest Atlantic hurricane in recording history – it made landfall on Elbow Cas and Abaco Islands.

According to a piece on ABC News, a correspondent Marcus Moore, who is on the ground in Marsh Harbor, called this typhoon “pure hell” as it rages across land with abnormal destructive force. He went on to say that there was no way out of the area as he and his crew were surrounded by water and he added, “I have seen utter devastation here in Marsh Harbor.” The Prime Minister of the Bahamas, Mr Hubert Minnis  referred to it this way, “this is probably the saddest and worst day for me to address the Bahamian people.” We have seen pictures out of the Bahamas and the destruction of cars, trees homes and just about everything in its path is frightening.
