Hillary Clinton Blames Angela Merkel for Populism

While you are reading this piece, think of the irony of Hillary Clinton`s comments. She justifies stopping immigration because it results in the election of Donald Trump, the son of an assimilated immigrant who was elected to office of the President. Does this mean she only wants immigrants to come to Western Europe and the US who cannot assimilate?

In an interview in the Guardian, Hillary Clinton said, “I think Europe needs to get a handle on migration because that is what lit the flame.” She went on to say in more specific terms that the immigration issue was inflaming voters and this triggered the Brexit deal and the election of President Donald Trump. The former Democratic presidential contender Hilly Clinton seems to avoid discussing any negative impact that uncontrolled mass immigration has on a society, as she only seems to know that it gives rise to populism. She went on, “I admire the very generous and compassionate approches that were taken particularly by leaders like Angela Merkel, but I think it is fair to say Europe has done its part, and must send a very clear message – We are not going to be able to continue provide refuge and support – because if we do not deal with the migration issue it will continue to roil the body politic.”

What works and what fails?

Immigrants who assimilate quickly rise to the top quickly because they share a common culture or vision of the future. Elon Musk, Peter Theil, Barak Obama, Andre Aggasi, Donald Trump, Tiger Woods – all first or second generation arrivals who assimilated and were absorbed into American culture. This model encourages 100 ethnic groups to share one culture.

Note that we at Classiarius support immigration as we ourselves are from immigrant stock. However, allowing manageable numbers of immigrants who are trained or educated and more importantly, those who have a strong desire to become part of the local culture and contribute to the economy are more than welcome. Barak Obama, and Donald Trump are both children of newcomers to the United States as is Macro Rubio, and Ted Cruz, both children of Cuban immigrants. Cruz himself was born in Calgary, Canada. To be clear, 5 of the 6 final candidates in the 2016 presidential election were just one or two generations of arriving on the US shores, they turned out fine. The founders of Google and Youtube are immigrants and note that one founder of Google arrived in the US as a refugee. Pfizer, the US pharma company, was founded by well assimilated immigrants. Bank of America, the largest bank in the US was founded by Italian immigrants and Andre Aggasi and Tiger Woods both have one parent born outside of the US.

Note that 41 percent of the Fortune 500 companies the the US were founded by immigrants or their children.

The European Separatist Multi-Cultural Model that divides people by encouraging self-segregation, and it is not working. Merkel and Clinton should understand that allowing immigrants into a country and educating them to ensure that they become functioning members of society is the only system that works.
