Google is Changing and Its Employees are Looking for Answers

Facebook and Big Tech - the US and China - Viewpoints

Google has seen explosive growth in the past decade and some employees are suggesting that they do not recognize the firm. In 2019, the firm passed the 100,000 mark in staff and this rapid growth has some people confused on the mission and purpose of the firm. Some long-tenured Alphabet employees recently told CNBC that they no longer recognize the company they joined years ago and with some senior managers leaving, the Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai has his work cut out for him because he now runs a firm that is growing faster outside its Silicon Valley home as it opens data centers around the US and expands overseas.

Clearly there are many issues that impact the company but the idea of different cultures and different views – people from India, to Japan, to Brazil and Russia – might scare some of those who live in the thought controlled world of San Francisco. Imagine the head office dealing with people from Japan and South Korea or Greece who have different viewpoints. A wide range of perspectives, speaking other languages or even disagreeing with people in San Francisco is as they say “problematic” and could possible “trigger” those in the head office. Changes are coming but can the mono-thought world of San Francisco handle it?
