Google health has seen its staff numbers increase quickly, now employing over 500 people. This firm is led by former Geisinger CEO David Feinberg who reports to Google AI chief Jeff Dean. Other senior staff are Paul Muret, and Chief Health Officer Karen DeSalvo. The health care teams were fragmented and housed around the firm but now Google is bringing them all under one roof. The Google health efforts have been around since 2006, when it decided to design and build a health repository for health records data. Note that Google is not alone, as Amazon, Apple, Facebook and Microsoft are building out similar platforms.
