The Trump administration has lost a battle in the supreme court regarding a policy that would prohibit immigrants from entering into the US unless it was a port of entry designated by the government. The administration was trying to stop those crossing the southern boarder illegally – which would be an area outside a designated port of entry – from applying for asylum. But US District Judge Randolph Moss in Washington DC, according to an article from ABC News, written by Sophie Tantum, ruled that the policy was unlawful and “in excess of statutory…..authority.”
The US needs a system that requires people to be documented and get proper support to assimilate into US society. Ilhan Omar, (politician), President Obama, Elon Musk (Tesla), Sergei Brin (Google), Ted Cruz (politician), and Arnold Schwarzenegger (actor/politican) all followed the rules to enter the United States.
The judge said that while Congress grants the US Department of Homeland Security secretary the authority to create additional restrictions on asylum policy, those limitations still fit within the confines of the law established by Congress. That rule would further limit who could apply for asylum at the US-Mexico border by attempting to force immigrants to apply for asylum in a third country if they were passing through before arrival in the United States. The key issue that is not being discussed is the type of education and a system to allow new arrivals to the US to work their way into society. They need food, shelter and education but most of all, they need to be legally documented and processed. It is horrible that women and children are walking across the desert – many women are raped along the way.
