There are several ways that can measure the success of Space X and one of them is the quality control systems put in place by the founder, Elon Musk. One rocket engine that was part of a controlled experiment fired and rather than move 65 feet into the air, it just sat on the platform and went up in flames. Of course the test was aborted but the damage to the rocket was not as severe as many watching the test thought. This was the prototype of the “Starship” rocket that is to lift off and then return to the platform but as mentioned, it did now move at all.
Kate Tice, a spokesperson for SpaceX said, “It appears as though we have had an abort on the test today. As Yuyo can see there, the vehicle did not lift off today.” The “hop” is usually a test that allows the rocket to move about 65 feet into the air, then return softly to earth.
Our Views: Mr Musk plans for everything and as such he is prepared for mistakes or errors. He aborted this current mission and will return to the drawing board with a view that the next test will be successful. SpaceX is now showing leadership in the US as new industries will be born from a private space industry and specifically an Internet satellite network.
