Uber tests a drone for food delivery, a product that is intended to be used for Uber eats while it continued to expand into the deliver service by launching an autonomous SUV. Uber said it will test its new delivery drone at McDonalds in San Diego with more tests later this year.
Uber also announced that it is working with Volvo to build a vehicle that can come off the assembly line and start right away as a self-driving automobile. Last year, Uber and the city of San Diego won the right test food deliver by air, from the Federal Aviation Administration of the FAA. The Volvo vehicle is also showing promise as it is the XC90 SUV a popular product that seems to be ready as a possible self-driving automobile of the future.
Argo AI, an autonomous vehicle company that is party owned by Ford will test new vehicles in Detroit. Volkswagen has cut ties with one autonomous vehicle firm and is now working with Ford and Argo AI while there are many other firms that are building out joint ventures with software companies to tackle the sell-driving market as it is expected to be a large growth area in the future.
