Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Tokyo Gov. Yuriko Koike celebrated the completion of the new National Stadium in Shinjuku Ward, as we in Tokyo prepare for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The National Stadium was completed on Nov 30 after three years of construction. It is twice the size of the former National Stadium. The opening and closing ceremonies and track and field events will take place at the new stadium in about 10 months. Note that the last Olympic Games were held in Tokyo in 1964, the same year that the Bullet Train was introduced to the world. Japan will usher in 5G for this upcoming Olympic Games.
